Child Protection & Youth Development

At Compassionate Afghanistan (CASDHO), we uphold the belief that every Afghan child and young person deserves a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. Decades of conflict, displacement, and social turmoil have gravely impacted Afghanistan’s children and youth, leaving many vulnerable to exploitation, violence, and lost opportunities. Our Child Protection & Youth Development programs aim to safeguard these individuals while fostering their growth into resilient, educated, and empowered citizens who can contribute positively to their communities.

Shaping the Future

🚸 Challenges Facing Afghan Children and Youth

Afghanistan faces a generational crisis marked by the following challenges:

  • 4.2 million children are out of school, most of them girls (60%).

  • 1 in 3 children is engaged in labor, often under hazardous conditions.

  • 28% of girls are married before the age of 18, exposing them to significant health and social risks.

  • 40% youth unemployment has led to increased migration and susceptibility to radicalization.

  • Psychological trauma and vulnerability to substance abuse have reached alarming levels among children and youth.

These issues underscore the urgent need for multi-pronged interventions to protect and empower Afghanistan’s future generation.
