🌍 Building a Healthier Afghanistan, One Community at a Time

🧭 Overview

At Compassionate Afghanistan, we believe that health is the foundation of survival, dignity, and long-term prosperity. Afghanistan faces one of the world’s most fragile health systems — marked by high maternal and child mortality, widespread malnutrition, and a critical lack of accessible care in rural areas.

Our Health & Well-Being Thematic Area is committed to reversing this crisis through community-driven, sustainable, and equitable health solutions. We work with Afghan health professionals, government agencies, and local communities to ensure every person—especially women and children—can access quality care, no matter where they live.

While large-scale programs are under development, we are already actively conducting health needs assessments, building partnerships, and laying the foundation for transformative, life-saving healthcare interventions across Afghanistan.

Strategic Objectives

🚨 Afghanistan’s Health Crisis in Numbers
  • 1 in 10 children dies before their 5th birthday (UNICEF)

  • 638 maternal deaths per 100,000 births — one of the world’s highest

  • 40% of children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition

  • 12 million people lack access to basic healthcare

  • 70% of rural clinics are without doctors, electricity, or essential medicines

  • These numbers reflect a national emergency — and a moral imperative for action.

Our Vision:

A healthier Afghanistan where every woman can give birth safely, every child receives care, and no family is left behind.

Our Mission:

To deliver equitable, compassionate healthcare for Afghanistan’s most vulnerable populations — combining emergency relief with long-term system building.
